The rotary drum screen is an efficient sewage treatment equipment. This equipment takes the drum as the core structure, and shows significant advantages in the field of water purification by combining mechanical screening with physical pressing.
The core function of the rotary drum screen is to systematically treat various impurities in the water body. The equipment is usually installed in the canal at 35° to the horizontal plane, and uses gravity and mechanical movement to achieve efficient operation. When sewage with suspended matter, short fibers and scum flows in from the end of the drum, the grille on the side of the drum begins to play a retaining role. The size of the grille gap can be flexibly adjusted according to the treatment accuracy, which is suitable for high-precision treatment and for sewage treatment occasions with small grille gaps and shallow channel depths.
The equipment fully embodies the innovative concept of functional integration in its structural design. The nylon brush and high-pressure flushing nozzle configured on the top of the drum constitute a double cleaning system, which can effectively remove the residues attached to the surface of the grille and avoid the blockage of the screen hole affecting the treatment efficiency. At the same time, the built-in screw conveyor lifts the separated screen residue along the drum axis to the dehydration area through precise mechanical transmission. This process not only realizes the continuous operation of solid-liquid separation, but also significantly reduces the moisture content of the screen residue through mechanical pressure in the pressing section, and finally discharges the dehydrated solid matter into a designated container or subsequent treatment unit. The whole process is fully closed, which not only eliminates secondary pollution, but also effectively controls the spread of odor.
In the sewage treatment process chain, the equipment integrates four functions: sewage interception, slag removal, spiral lifting, and pressing and dehydration. The unique advantage of the rotary drum screen is reflected in its adaptability to complex working conditions. Compared with traditional treatment equipment, its drum structure can adapt to a smaller installation space, and the inclined installation method not only improves the impurity collection efficiency, but also reduces the energy consumption of equipment operation.
From the separation of pomace in wastewater from food processing plants, to fiber recovery in the papermaking industry, to sewage treatment in urban sewage treatment plants, the application of rotary drum screens continues to verify its technical advantages.
